Made it to Glacier

Hi again,

The past four days have been a memorable part of our journey. We went from Troy to Libby, MT and saw Kootenai Falls and the Swinging bridge on our way. Later on, we stayed at the most beautiful campsite I have ever seen by Lake Koocanusa.

The next day, we had a short ride to Eureka where we had homemade pizza and bread with our lovely hosts. They even woke up at 6am to make sure we had some coffee and breakfast for the road, and made sure we were prepared for the climb in Glaicer National Park. We were also advised to pack some bear spray, just in case!

Yesterday we were finally off to Glacier National Park. On the way, a lady saw our bike group on the side of the road and gave us some delicious chocolate chip huckleberry cookies.

Unfortunately, that day I was having trouble with my gears and with the rain and narrow shoulder I took a spill, but luckily the woman driving behind us was a traffic controller, so she directed traffic while we put ourselves back together and then dropped us at the bike shop a little down the road in Whitefish for some repairs.

During this ordeal with the fall, the difficult weather, and the bike troubles, we all really pulled together as a team and supported one another. We made a day that would have seemed terrible into one of our best days yet.

At the end of the day, we say a beautiful double rainbow, the brightest I had ever seen, while pulling up to Glacier.

Now, we are enjoying the park and will soon be off on another adveture.

Hello again, I can't believe we have gone through two more states since my last post. We are nearing the end of our journey here across these great United States. Now, we are in NYC and are exploring the largest city so far of our trip. We had a fun trip into Philly, taking the Pike to Bike route on the old abandoned PA turnpike. We explored the old tunnels and climbed up to look at the decrepit machinery. The PA hillside was wonderful and we enjoyed riding through the Amish farms. We even took some time to play mini golf, swim in the community pool, and stop by Valley Forge to steep in its rich history. Though we are trying to get back before school starts, we are still finding time to enjoy ourselves. During our time in Philly, we stayed with a retired chef who told us the inspiring stories of his journies through the Mississippi Delta. Time to Rest

Hello, Today is day twenty six and we are ready to rest here in Glendive, Montana. In just a day's time we will arrive in North Dakota, having finished the journey through our longest state. The past few days have been, hot, windy, and long. We have woken up early and stayed up late biking and planning our trip. However, we have seen a lot of kindness along the way. While in Nashua, we met a member of the Lion's Club who helped build the shelter we stayed in that night. Then, upon arriving to Glendive we met a fellow cyclist willing to give us a place to stay, showers, laundry, and amazing coffee. They were so nice and we snuggled with their puppy. Now, we are off to wash our sleeping bags, stop by the camping store, admire the dinosaur museum, and explore Makoshika State Park, Montana's largest. Hopefully, we can grab some ice cream too. Week 1 - Made it to Idaho - 450 miles

Hello Family and Friends! I just completed my first week on the bike trip. We flew out last Saturday and spent 2 days hanging out in Seattle and met up with family. We then officially started the trip Monday out of Anacortes, a seaside town where we touched our bikes to the Pacific Ocean. We are taking the Northern Tier Route, a well established route that starts in Washington. Thus far this trip has been everything I hoped for and more. However this was the most challenging week of my life both mentally and physically. We climbed a series of mountains this week which made traversing through Washington state one of the most grueling weeks of the trip. Physically, I reached my breaking points multiple times during this week. Climbing up the mountains such as Washington Pass was grueling, to the point where even on the lowest gear I was moving at a snails pass comparable to walking the bike.
